Starting with the first larger projects early in summer 2006 marketing and advertising in a corporate context have come more and more to fore in my day-to-day work. Since then I have translated or proofread a large amount of advertising and marketing copy and communication as well as online content of both really well known and not so well known multinational companies in a wide variety of industries – printing hardware and software, web 2.0, automotive industry, fashion, mail order, online gaming, sportsbook, foodstuffs, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, aviation, market research, tourism, financial services etc.
Name dropping is taboo in this field – at least for me, a small subcontractor in 95% of the jobs – although I'd shout about the names of all these really noteworthy companies from the roof tops if it weren't for non-disclosure agreements preventing a little freelancer like me from doing so. Never mind. I content myself with mentioning two companies – a language service provider based in London with offices in Paris, Brussels and New York and the British branch of a global advertising agency probably everybody knows – which I owe most of my international work in the fields of marketing and advertising:
