Since, having
restored the apartment we were pretty well going to have to remove
the roof to get the bed in, we thought we might just as
well have, so to speak the mother of all beds, a Lazzarini Pickering,
designer , plus its own little bridge for your breakfast
tray, etc etc . Another room with three beds, galley kitchen and
bathroom under the eaves completes the apartment
We call this
the honeymoon flat. It is wildy romantic not least because of
the splendid row of windows along the length of the south
facade facing due south over a crossroads of two canals
, the Canale Santa Caterina and the Rio diCa´Dolce
The attic
is on the second floor of the listed gothic palazzetto, up a staircase
of 50 steps (there is no lift). Built in the mid fifteenth century
this palazzetto was a copy of the Ca´d´Oro by an admiring
but less successful merchant than the merchant on the Grand Canal,
this charming building is particularly well sited, with open views
on all sides.
All the windows
of the attic flat look due south straight across the canal of
Santa Caterina just at the cross junction of another canal- the
Rio di Ca´Dolce. This is truly one of Venice´s most
beautiful and exceptional views, high up, wide open , and with
the sun sparkling on the water and reflecting the waves on the
ceiling of the main sitting area . The flat enjoys a fresh breeze
even on the hottest days This comes from the Fondamenta Nuova,
where ordinary public transport boats can be taken to visit the
lagoon and the islands.

area. All windows face directly onto the canal, due south from
a very pretty angle high up; the flat is very sunny.There is no
lift; the attic is reached by walking 40 steps up the staircase
from the main hall on the ground floor.
Accomodation
is 70 square metres and consists of two double bedrooms, ample
open plan sitting /dining area with beams; long corridor with
a hammock for relaxing ; bathroom /WC; galley kitchen and lots
and lots of cupboard space.

Beds are made for your arrival, and stripped when you leave.
