There are many, many lovely beaches all around the island (sandy, fine pebbles, rocks), none of them far, and most of them also perfect for children.

There is something for every taste, from long, quiet, sandy beaches with trees, more populated ones with water-sports and tavernas, to small deserted coves.

It is best to rent a small car or motorbikes, then one can sample all the beaches and also visit all the beautiful other sites.

There are also excursion boats leaving every morning from the harbour, to the various beaches on Patmos and for day-trips to the small nearby islands.
